Garment Repair Seamstress required in Canada

Nettoyeur Daoust Eco Performent is hiring a Garment Repair Seamstress in Lévis, Quebec, Canada. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced sewing professional who can make, alter and repair garments according to customer requirements and clothing specifications.

The role involves creating made-to-measure garments, fitting and repairing clothing, operating sewing machines, modifying commercial patterns and working with a variety of fabrics and textiles.

The Role

Nettoyeur Daoust Eco Performent is looking for a Garment Repair Seamstress to join its team and provide professional garment alteration, repair and tailoring services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and modifying garments, completing repairs, working with different fabrics and ensuring finished clothing meets customer specifications and quality standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Making made-to-measure garments according to customer and manufacturing specifications.
• Fitting, altering and repairing garments as required.
• Operating sewing machines and completing sewing work by hand.
• Selecting and modifying commercial patterns according to customer requirements.
• Adjusting patterns to meet clothing manufacturers’ specifications and ensure proper fit.
• Marking, cutting and sewing different types of fabrics.
• Performing garment alterations, repairs, restyling and tailoring work.
• Working with materials including cotton, polyester, satin, silk, textiles, leather and velvet or pile fabrics.
• Paying close attention to measurements, colours, stitching and finishing details.
• Maintaining an organized and efficient work area.
• Working collaboratively with team members to complete customer orders.
• Providing reliable and professional service to customers.
• Supporting other garment-related duties as required.

Candidate Requirements

Nettoyeur Daoust Eco Performent is seeking applicants who bring:

• 2 to less than 3 years of relevant work experience.
• An other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
• French language skills.
• Experience in alterations, dressmaking, repair, restyling, tailoring or garment fabrication.
• Experience working as a seamstress.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to distinguish between colours.
• Efficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Client-focused and professional approach.
• Flexibility and initiative.
• Good judgement and organizational skills.
• Reliable and hardworking attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Candidates should also be comfortable working in a hands-on environment that requires a combination of sitting, standing and walking. Public transportation is available, and applicants should be willing to relocate if required.
