A part-time helper (Animal Care) needed in HK

Ocean Park Corporation is hiring a Part Time Animal Care Helper in Aberdeen, Southern District, Hong Kong. This is a contract/temp opportunity supporting routine animal care and daily curatorial operations at Ocean Park.

The role is suitable for candidates with a biological background or previous experience in an animal-related field. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently, have good analytical and problem-solving skills, and be available for rostered shifts during weekends and public holidays.

The Role

Ocean Park Corporation is looking for a Part Time Animal Care Helper to support its animal care team and daily curatorial operations.

The successful candidate will assist with routine animal care activities and help the team maintain smooth day-to-day operations. The role may involve working outdoors and in different weather conditions when necessary, as well as rostered shifts on weekends and public holidays.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Supporting routine animal care activities.
• Assisting with daily curatorial operations.
• Helping animal care staff with assigned tasks and operational duties.
• Supporting the maintenance of animal care areas.
• Following established animal care and workplace procedures.
• Observing animals and reporting relevant issues to supervisors.
• Assisting with the preparation of areas, equipment, and supplies required for animal care.
• Maintaining cleanliness and appropriate standards in animal care areas.
• Supporting the team in completing daily operational tasks.
• Working safely and responsibly around animals and related equipment.
• Communicating relevant observations or concerns to team members.
• Assisting with other animal care and curatorial duties as required.

Candidate Requirements

Ocean Park Corporation is seeking applicants who bring:

• Form 5 (F5) education or above.
• Biological background is preferred.
• Previous experience in an animal-related field is preferred.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese.
• Good command of Mandarin.
• Ability to work rostered shifts.
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to work outdoors when required.
• Ability to work during inclement weather when necessary.
• Independent and mature approach to work.
• Good analytical thinking skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Responsible attitude toward animal care and workplace safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Candidates should also be prepared for a physically active working environment and understand that animal care operations may require flexible scheduling and outdoor work.
