Chilli Bins is hiring Yardmen/Picker/Sorters for full-time positions at its recycling facility in Caboolture, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The position offers $30 to $38 per hour. The successful candidates will work in an indoor/outdoor environment at a construction and demolition waste resource recovery facility.
The role is suitable for physically fit and reliable candidates who have a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Previous experience is not essential, as this is an entry-level recycling position. On-site training will be provided for certain duties.
Key Responsibilities
Yardmen/Picker/Sorters will support daily operations at the recycling and resource recovery facility.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Picking and sorting recyclable materials from construction and demolition waste
- Working in indoor and outdoor areas of the recycling facility
- Assisting with routine plant and yard maintenance
- Performing general cleaning duties
- Greasing and maintaining plant and equipment
- Operating the site sweeper after receiving on-site training
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
- Working cooperatively with other members of the yard team
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be physically fit, dependable and willing to work in a demanding recycling and resource recovery environment.
Candidates should have:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Reliable and trustworthy nature
- Ability to work safely in an indoor/outdoor environment
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, mask, hearing protection, gloves and long-sleeved high-visibility clothing
- Own transport or regular access to a vehicle
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Current Australian driver’s licence is desirable
- Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card) is desirable
- Previous yard or recycling experience is an advantage but not essential
