Gleeson and Cox Transport Ltd is hiring Experienced Class 5 Truck Drivers for full-time, permanent positions in Wiri, Auckland, New Zealand, with opportunities also available in Huntly. The role offers a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week and a competitive hourly rate. Class 4 drivers with relevant hot mix or asphalt experience may also be considered.
The successful candidates will join a hardworking transport team supporting major roading projects, ship discharges, construction sites, and bulk material transport across Auckland, Waikato, and surrounding areas.
The Role
Drivers will operate modern fleet vehicles and transport bulk materials safely and efficiently. The role may involve day or night shifts, with operations running Monday to Sunday, up to 6 days per week.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Operating Class 5 heavy combination vehicles
- Transporting bulk materials for roading and construction projects
- Supporting ship discharge and major infrastructure projects
- Completing tipping and roading work safely and efficiently
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
- Conducting work independently while maintaining professional standards
- Working flexible day and night shifts as required
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be an experienced heavy vehicle driver with a strong roading and tipping background.
Candidates should have:
- 5+ years of relevant driving experience with references
- A current New Zealand Class 5 driver’s licence
- Class 4 drivers with hot mix/asphalt experience may also be considered
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work day or night shifts
- Availability to work Monday to Sunday, up to 6 days per week
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Positive, reliable, and can-do attitude
- Ability to work unsupervised
