PAE (NZ) Ltd is hiring a Plumber at Papakura Military Camp in Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a qualified plumbing professional with at least five years of trade-related experience. The successful candidate will carry out plumbing maintenance, repairs, installations, inspections and project work across residential, commercial and operational facilities within the camp.

The role offers an opportunity to work at a single site without travelling between multiple locations. The plumber will support the ongoing maintenance, safety and compliance of plumbing systems while working alongside a skilled team of tradespeople to maintain facilities that support New Zealand Defence Force operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Plumber will be responsible for maintaining plumbing systems and ensuring that repairs, installations and preventative maintenance work are completed safely and to the required standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out plumbing maintenance, repairs and installations across camp facilities
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests, plumbing faults and equipment breakdowns
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities
• Diagnosing plumbing problems and identifying suitable repair solutions
• Maintaining accurate job records and updating maintenance documentation
• Managing plumbing materials, tools and equipment effectively
• Ensuring all plumbing work complies with relevant standards, regulations and requirements
• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and concerns about asset conditions
• Following workplace health and safety procedures and contributing to a positive safety culture
• Coordinating with other tradespeople to complete maintenance and project work efficiently
• Supporting the ongoing operation and functionality of residential, commercial and operational facilities
• Participating in on-call rosters and responding to call-outs when required

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, qualified plumber with strong technical knowledge, practical troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage maintenance work independently.

Candidates must have:

• A New Zealand Certificate in Plumbing (Level 4)
• At least five years of trade-related experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• The ability to work independently and organise workloads effectively
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative approach and a strong customer-service focus
• A full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence
• The ability to obtain and maintain an NZDF Security Clearance
• The ability to pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background check
• A commitment to safe working practices and compliance with relevant plumbing standards
• The ability to work effectively with other tradespeople and maintenance teams
