Key Responsibilities

As a Machine Operator (Press Brake), your duties may include:

Machine Operations:

  • Setting up and operating manual press brake machines
  • Bending and forming metal components according to specifications
  • Adjusting machine settings for precision production
  • Selecting proper tooling and machine setup

Production Duties:

  • Reading blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Following production schedules and work orders
  • Loading and unloading sheet and plate metal
  • Meeting daily production targets

Quality Control:

  • Performing first-piece and in-process inspections
  • Using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
  • Ensuring finished products meet quality standards
  • Reporting quality concerns and machine issues

General Support:

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Performing routine equipment maintenance
  • Assisting with other fabrication duties when required
  • Following OSHA and workplace safety procedures

Skills & Qualifications

To qualify, you should have:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of press brake or metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of bend allowances and material properties
  • Experience using precision measuring tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Work Environment

This role involves:

  • Working in a manufacturing and fabrication facility
  • Standing for long periods during shifts
