Position Summary

Working in our school kitchen, you will support the preparation and service of healthy, tasty meals for pupils and staff. Whether it’s greeting students with a smile or keeping our kitchen running smoothly, your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing and daily experience of our school community.

Key Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Preparing, serving, and presenting food in line with dietary and portion guidelines
  • Assisting with food preparation, such as chopping vegetables or portioning meals
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and hygienically
  • Keeping the kitchen and serving areas clean and tidy
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
  • Providing excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
  • Supporting other catering staff and working as part of a team

Required Qualifications & Skills

We are looking for individuals with:

  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
  • Some experience in a food service or kitchen role (preferred but not essential)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic food hygiene awareness (training can be provided)
  • Reliability and a professional approach
  • A passion for delivering great service to young people
