Responsibilities

As a Truck Driver, you will:

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required

• Plan or adjust routes using GPS or navigation devices to reduce fuel consumption and emissions

• Load and unload goods and ensure proper tarping and securement of cargo

• Transport and handle dangerous goods safely

• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections

• Inspect tires, brakes, lights, cold storage, and other equipment

• Perform preventive maintenance, brake adjustments, and minor emergency roadside repairs

• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption

• Receive and relay information to central dispatch

• Obtain special permits and required documentation for cargo transport

• Address customer complaints or concerns professionally

• Demonstrate mountain driving expertise and strong customer service skills

• Coach colleagues on new work methods or techniques

• Arrange travel itineraries and related reservations when required

• Calculate repair costs, depreciation, and costs of new truck parts if needed

Required Qualifications & Skills

HKR Transport Ltd. is seeking candidates who offer:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

• 1 year to less than 2 years of truck driving experience

• English language proficiency

• Ability to work on-site (no remote option)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage heavy workloads

• Physically capable of handling up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and long periods of sitting

• Professional, dependable, and customer-focused

Credentials

Candidates must possess:

• Valid Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

• Class 5/5F/G Licence

• Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

• Valid passport

• Knowledge of driver logbooks and transportation documentation
