Responsibilities
As a Seasonal Maintenance Worker, you will:
- Perform general maintenance and repair work on grounds, buildings, roads, trails, and fences
- Assist with carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and minor electrical tasks
- Conduct trail maintenance on paved and unpaved walkways
- Carry out groundskeeping duties including mowing, watering, fertilizing, and trimming trees and hedges
- Clean restrooms, public-use buildings, and collect trash as required
- Operate basic hand tools and small gas/electric power tools (mowers, trimmers, grinders, sanders, saws, vacuums, floor polishers, etc.)
- Assist higher-grade maintenance staff with larger projects and special assignments
- Operate motor vehicles as part of daily duties
- Complete daily work reports and follow supervisor instructions
- Adhere to safety standards, uniform requirements, and organizational policies

Required Qualifications & Skills
National Park Service is seeking candidates who offer:
- Practical experience in grounds maintenance and basic building repairs
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Knowledge of using and maintaining tools and equipment
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform repetitive manual tasks
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliability, flexibility, and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Commitment to safety and teamwork
