Job Summary
The Cleaner will be responsible for performing thorough cleaning tasks at client sites, including homes and offices. The role includes a wide range of duties such as floor cleaning, dusting, sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms, and waste removal. Cleaners must be physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to complete tasks efficiently while meeting Taylormaid’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors using appropriate tools and products
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
- Dust and wipe down furniture, surfaces, and fixtures
- Make beds and change linens as required
- Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom surfaces and appliances
- Empty trash containers and remove debris from premises
- Wash windows, walls, mirrors, and ceilings
- Maintain cleaning supplies and report low stock
- Follow health and safety protocols, including WHMIS guidelines
- Ensure timely arrival at work sites and complete jobs within allocated times
- Accurately track hours and mileage for reimbursement
- Maintain respectful, professional communication with clients
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- License: Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle required
- Certification: WHMIS certification (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
- Language: English (oral and written communication skills)
- Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and follow checklists or client requests
- Clean criminal record (mandatory background check)
