About The Role

As part of the Housekeeping team, you’ll contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and comforting space for residents and staff. You’ll be working in a Care Home environment, supporting daily operations and ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are upheld.


Housekeeper and Cleaner Jobs in New Zealand Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning tasks as outlined in the Care Home’s schedule and protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and service areas.
  • Ensure safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of cleaning materials.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Household Supervisor.
  • Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies and infection control practices.
  • Respect the dignity, privacy, and independence of all residents.
  • Maintain a warm, approachable manner while working around residents.
  • Cooperate with nursing and care staff to support a harmonious environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping (preferably in healthcare or aged care).

  • Flexibility for shifts across weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
  • Reliable transport or travel arrangements.
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand.
