📋 Job Summary

In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering full-cycle solutions for residential land development projects—from concept and consenting to construction supervision and final title. You’ll liaise with clients, councils, and contractors while having the freedom to influence design decisions, improve processes, and see your ideas come to life on the ground.


🧱 Key Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare civil engineering plans for land development projects, including earthworks, stormwater, wastewater, roading, and utility services.
  • Coordinate engineering plan approvals with local councils and compliance stakeholders.
  • Provide on-site supervision and construction monitoring to ensure adherence to design standards.
  • Manage contract administration in line with NZS 3910.
  • Collaborate with internal designers, planners, surveyors, and external consultants.
  • Ensure timely delivery of documentation and milestones across all project phases.
  • Communicate proactively with clients to ensure satisfaction and design clarity.
  • Resolve on-site engineering and construction challenges as they arise.
  • Contribute to project planning and budgeting, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company at stakeholder meetings, public consultations, and briefings.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Washington Accord preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in land development or civil infrastructure projects in New Zealand.
  • Proficiency with 12D, AutoCAD, and other civil design software.
  • Familiarity with New Zealand planning, engineering, and consenting processes.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant design standards and codes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Client-centric approach with an ability to manage relationships and expectations.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under minimal supervision.
