📄 Job Summary

As a Civil Engineer based in Nunavut and reporting to the Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and implementation of key mining infrastructure projects. This fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) role follows a 3×3 rotation and requires a motivated individual who thrives in complex logistical environments and extreme climate conditions.


🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Design and draft plans for civil infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, pads, and site grading.
  • Prepare and update sitewide traffic flow maps for both permanent and temporary construction arrangements.
  • Schedule project activities and allocate equipment/crews in line with site priorities.
  • Monitor project costs and budgets, identifying discrepancies and reporting variances.
  • Conduct geotechnical and concrete testing in alignment with QA/QC standards.
  • Carry out site inspections to ensure construction meets design and safety standards.
  • Create technical drawings and 3D models for internal design proposals.
  • Assist in cost estimation and scoping for civil infrastructure works.
  • Support procurement logistics, inventory control, and supply chain forecasting.
  • Collaborate on RFPs and assess proposals from external consultants and contractors.
  • Manage project risks and propose mitigation strategies for optimization.
  • Contribute to sustainability and safety goals through diligent engineering practice.

🎓 Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.Eng).
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration with NAPEG.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in civil infrastructure, ideally within mining or permafrost conditions.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Project, Bluebeam PDF, and Excel.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in remote environments with rotating schedules.
