Position Summary:
The Civil Engineer will support the design, planning, and construction of mine-related infrastructure under the guidance of the Senior Civil Engineer. Working in a permafrost environment, the engineer will be responsible for drafting civil plans, managing construction schedules, overseeing QA/QC, and ensuring adherence to safety and engineering standards.
Civil Engineer Jobs in Canada Key Responsibilities:
- Design and draft civil infrastructure (roads, drainage, grading, etc.).
- Coordinate and track project schedules, resources, and costs.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments.
- Support geotechnical and material testing analysis.
- Assist with procurement, inventory, and logistics coordination.
- Evaluate RFPs and contractor proposals.
- Develop technical drawings and cost estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.Eng).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (mine-related work preferred).
- Registered or eligible for P.Eng (NAPEG – Nunavut/NWT).
- Skilled in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Project, and Bluebeam PDF.
- Experience in permafrost environments considered an asset.
