Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Caregiver (Coverpool) to join our team at Diana Isaac Retirement Village in Mairehau, Christchurch. In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care that enhances the quality of life of our residents. From assisting with daily living to offering emotional support, your role will make a real impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build warm, respectful relationships with residents and their families.
  • Deliver care in accordance with individual care plans and clinical guidelines.
  • Support residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
  • Use myRyman, our purpose-built care app, to track care tasks and communicate in real-time.
  • Observe and report changes in residents’ health and behaviour to clinical staff.
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, support staff, and allied health teams.
  • Promote dignity, respect, and independence in all resident interactions.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection control, and health & safety practices.
  • Contribute positively to the team culture through open communication and kindness.
  • Participate in ongoing training and care development activities.

What You’ll Need

  • A kind and empathetic nature—genuine care is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A reliable, professional, and collaborative attitude.
  • Physical ability to support residents in a hands-on care environment.
  • Experience in aged care is preferred but not required—we provide training.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts on a coverpool basis.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand (Applicants must have valid NZ work rights).
  • A Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2-4) is advantageous but not essential.
