Position Summary
As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of housekeeping services throughout the hotel. Working closely with the Executive Housekeeper and a team of dedicated professionals, you will help maintain exceptional cleanliness and comfort standards across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, while fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day housekeeping operations including room cleaning, public area maintenance, laundry, and linen control.
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to consistently deliver high-quality service.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet established cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Coordinate housekeeping schedules and assignments to optimize productivity and timely completion of tasks.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and linens; coordinate procurement with purchasing.
- Handle guest requests and concerns with professionalism, aiming for quick resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Front Office, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and maintenance follow-ups.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance appraisals of housekeeping team members.
- Maintain and enforce health, safety, and hygiene regulations in all housekeeping operations.
- Assist in the development and execution of housekeeping policies, SOPs, and service quality standards.
- Stay informed on industry trends and apply innovative practices to enhance housekeeping efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a housekeeping supervisory role within a 4 or 5-star hotel.
- Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, cleaning techniques, and service standards.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to uphold luxury service standards.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with housekeeping systems and hotel management software (e.g., Opera, HotSOS, etc.).
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and guest service skills.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and hygiene protocols.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
